The Junior Maintenance Technician is responsible for assist with maintaining the Hotel property in top physical and mechanical condition. Therefore playing an integral role in our department’s mission which is to preserve and enhance the value of the physical assets of the Hotel. Your professionalism and knowledge of the Hotel will reflect positively in how you present the property.

**Position Summary**
- To know and understand the Hotel and the Maintenance Department’s Mission Statement and to perform the functions and responsibilities of the Junior Maintenance Technician position in a manner that helps us to achieve these goals.
- Contribute to the goal of our guests perceiving the Delta Calgary South to be physically superior to our competitors.
- Continue to be a (**T*ogether**E**verybody**A**ccomplishes**M*ore) player developing one’s self, sharing knowledge and helping team members as well as employees in other departments.

**Required**:

- Flexibility to work a varied schedule including days, weekends and holidays where the weekly hours may fluctuate by season. Schedule based on business volumes.

**Responsibilities**:

- Adhere to the specified set of standards and procedures as laid out for each task
- Reply and or respond to guest requests/complaints and comments
- Regular maintenance (pools, guest rooms, public areas, exterior etc.)
- Perform preventive maintenance, adhering to the schedule
- Supply service for internal departments
- Rooms preventative maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot problems
- Anticipate problems
- Fix and repair
- Upgrade - renovate
- Maintain aesthetics (both interior and exterior)
- Adheres to health and safety requirements

**Qualifications**
- 1-3 years of experience in a relates field
- Strong sense of safety
- Mechanically Inclined
- Certification/Diploma in the areas listed below is an asset
- Knowledge of specific skills/areas : HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, Kitchen Equipment, Pools, Painting
- **Physical requirements**:

- Must be able to lift or move heavy objects (eg, furniture, TV’s, bags of salt etc.) up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work on ladders, as well as walk a lot
