ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY As a Junior GIS Technician, your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Support ongoing GIS projects and initiatives such as updating base layers with current data, including but not limited to layer editing, layer creation, large dataset manipulation and creation. Manage various data inputs from multiple sources for large projects Data entry and maintenance of project systems Collaborate and create Python scripts for automation tasks. Collaborate with other GIS individuals to ensure consistent and high-quality GIS services are maintained. Maintain, update and create new standards or procedures for GIS under the direction of the supervisor to support the generation of maps and drawings and the efficient management of asset information. Participate in the project meetings as directed by the Supervisor and contribute to the continuing development and maintenance of the company GIS system. Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and team safety by closely following company safety policies, standards, and procedures Assist with other responsibilities as needed to contribute to the overall success of the team What We’re Looking for On Your Resume: 1 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role ESRI software suite including ArcGIS is required.
