**Position Overview**:
The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of Tenold Transportation Ltd. & Number 8 Freight Ltd.'s Human Resources Department.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage the Full cycle recruitment: Posting jobs, tracking of applicants, short-listing, pre-screening, interviewing and reference/background checks.
- Lead the Social Committee and plan monthly events that foster positive workplace culture and celebrate the different cultures that make up our company. Ensure there are events that focus on mental, emotional and physical wellness. All events are to be in line with the company’s mission, vision, and values and within the Social Committee Budget.
- Manage the company’s social media accounts: LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. Ensure that there is regular posting and engagement happening.
- Manage the work permit tracking by ensuring documentation is in place and proactively communicating with employees regarding work permit expiry and updates.
- Maintaining and updating HR information, and records by collecting, entering, and maintaining employee documentation to ensure good record keeping.
- Manage the Employee of the Month Program.
- Manage the purchasing of gifts & cards for employee’s life events, anniversaries and retirements.
- Assist in planning and executing team building activities. Assist with organizing companywide events.
- Assist in writing employment verification letters as needed.
- Correspond with IT for regular updating of the phone directory.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of our orientation program. Ensure each new hire has a welcome package. Ensure the workstation for new hires is set. Assist with the onboarding of new hires.
- Assist with sourcing and administrating training programs for all departments.
- Assist with the implementation and upkeep of the Performance Review process.
- Assist with regulatory reporting on an as needed basis.
- Assist with Human Resources projects.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications/Requirements**:

- 1-5 Years of Education or Experience in the Human Resources Field.
- Previous experience with an HRIS is considered an asset.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills. Knowledge in Microsoft Office Programs required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to be a self-starter.
- Conduct yourself in a professional, diplomatic, and confidential way.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and requirements.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a small team.
- Knowledge of the supply chain industry (Logistics/Transportation) is preferred.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
