Available only for special events, rooms are available for daytime or evening functions year round, and can host sit-down events for 20 to 180 guests as well as cocktail parties from 40 to 350 guests.

**The Job**

Reporting to the Managing Director for a privately owned company located in Toronto, the Meeting and Event Manager is responsible for the sales, contractual negotiations, planning, coordination and execution of meetings and events in our host venue and off-site.

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for sales, planning, and execution of all aspects of weddings, personal, and professional events including: site tours, budgeting, contractual negotiations, menu design, establishing itineraries, audio-visual requirements, and staffing.
- Handle all vendor contracts for events including: AV support, décor, staffing, and rentals.
- Prepare all material for events including itinerary, menu design, beverage selections, floor plans, and signage.
- Interact effectively with clients as their day-to day contact.
- Develop and track event budgets and timelines.
- Provide onsite meeting support as required.
- Support the Managing Director as required.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent number of years experience in event sales or event production.
- Working knowledge of food and beverage services.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self motivated, organized, ability to multi-task and set priorities well in order to manage multiple deadlines; process and detail oriented.
- Provide a positive attitude at all times including under challenging circumstances.
- Must possess skills to negotiate, sell and positively influence clients and guests.
- Negotiate contract and pricing with vendors.
- Create, maintain and control budgets for each project.
- Manage client expectations as it relates to project design and costs.
- Manage deliverables through time management and prioritization. Uses time effectively/efficiently.
- Able to set objectives and goals, develop schedules, anticipate and adjust quickly.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Able to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication with clients and team members.
- Goal oriented - can be counted on to meet goals successfully and deliver accurately, and on time.
- Desire to learn and grow with the business.
- Ability to make independent decisions with sound judgment.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
