**Job Overview**
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Aides to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. As a Home Care Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring they receive the care and companionship they deserve. This position requires a commitment to providing respectful, patient, and empathetic care in various settings, including private homes, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary to ensure client safety.
- Maintain cleanliness of the client's living space, including light housekeeping tasks.
- Support clients with hospice care needs when applicable, ensuring comfort during end-of-life stages.
- Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition to the supervising nurse or care manager.
- Collaborate effectively with family members and other healthcare professionals involved in the client's care.

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in senior care or caregiving is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
- Compassionate demeanor and strong interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport with clients.
- Familiarity with hospice care practices is beneficial for those working with terminally ill patients.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in nursing or healthcare is a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between client locations as needed.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $17.00-$19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay

- 4 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Edmonton, AB (T5J): reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Caregiving: 1 year (preferred)
- Home care: 1 year (preferred)
- Senior care: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Assistance in Health Care Facilities (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)

**Location**:

- Edmonton, AB (T5J) (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

- 50% (preferred)
