This job posting is for an existing vacancy and is intended to fill a current position within our organization.
We are currently looking for a Youth Centre Coordinator to join our team of committed professionals. This Full-time position within the Association is located at our Sudbury branch.
Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Recreational Programming and Day Camps the Youth Centre Coordinator oversees the planning, coordination, and delivery of programs and services within the Youth Drop-In Centre. The role is responsible for program supervision and development, quality assurance, special events, supporting staff scheduling, and meeting program goals according to YMCA policies, procedures, and standards.
**START DATE**: As soon as possible
**LOCATION**: Durham Street, Sudbury ON
**RATE OF PAY**: $19.23 - $20.67 per hour
**HOURS**: 30 per week
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
- Minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience in a similar role
- Minimum of two (1) years of experience working directly with children and youth
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to form collaborative bonds and communicate well with children and youth, parents, and staff
- Self-motivated and a strong team player
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Bilingualism in both official languages considered an asset
- Current and Satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Foster youth engagement through the promotion of youth-friendly activities and resources
- Maintain a youth friendly environment in the youth Centre and develop a strong understanding of issues and barriers affecting youth participation
- Monitor trends and continue to develop programs and initiatives for youth
- Engage with youth (ages 10-18) who access the Youth Centre, assisting them in engaging in recreation services and accessing community resources available to themProgram, plan, and implement activities
- Assist with providing training, coaching, and support to staff and volunteers
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, scheduling and supervising staff and volunteers
- Manage program budgets by monitoring expenses and ensuring resources are used effectively
- Participate in committees as required
- Maintain attendance lists and keep accurate participant data (sign in/out sheets)
- Provide leadership to the level of service delivery for the department using Y Way Standards
