**Salary scale**: $46,932.75 - $51,284.68
**Job Summary**
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for coordinating HR functional areas including recruitment, onboarding & orientation. The coordinator will provide day-to-day support to managers and employees and assist with projects related to implementation of Main Street Project’s strategic plan, recruitment, and training plan.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with program managers, oversee the recruitment process for frontline staff both internally and externally, ensuring adherence to legal and union standards
- Assist in the development of job descriptions, update existing ones, and manage internal & external job postings
- Oversee interview documentation (questions, rating sheets, references) and coordinate background checks and reference verifications
- Organize and attend recruitment events and job fairs, meet with external recruitment partners and agencies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of recruitment and onboarding processes
- Respond to queries from staff and prospective hires, ensuring that the recruitment process is accessible by identifying hiring barriers and providing alternatives
- Update and maintain accurate records in applicant tracking system (ATS)
- Generate reports and analyze recruitment metrics
- In accordance with Main Street Project’s strategic plan, increase the participation and representation of Indigenous people in MSP’s staffing, including hiring staff who speak Indigenous languages
- Ensure consistent employee branding and a positive experience for new and prospective staff
- Lead and coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation process
- Prepare, send out, manage employee letters and documentation, and maintain the employee filing system.
- Coordinate the employee off-boarding process
- Contribute content to staff communication channels, including newsletters and bulletin boards.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management
- CPHR Designation or in process is considered an asset
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in similar HR role
- Ability to understand, provide feedback, and implement necessary revisions to policies and procedures
- Skilled communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to professionally communicate with diverse individuals
- Proven ability to manage numerous tasks and projects simultaneously including the ability to coordinate, and monitor the completion of administrative work
- Detail oriented and exceptional organization and time management skills
- A team player that willingly and enthusiastically provides support and mentorship as required
- Ability to handle highly confidential material and matters professionally
- Experience in the non-profit or charitable sector an asset
- Knowledge of the effects of poverty and the detriments of health
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture
- Knowledge of TRC Calls to Action, MMIWG Call to Justice, and UNDRIP an asset
- Additional languages (Indigenous) are considered an asset
- Experience sourcing and working with Indigenous organization and/or communities an asset
- Able to contribute to a culturally safe environment for staff and participants
- First Nations, Metis or Inuit Peoples are asked to declare
**Conditions of Employment**
- Ability to meet to the physical demands required for the role including long periods of computer use and the ability to move between work sites
- Comfortable working in environment where Indigenous ceremonies and practices are actively taking place including Smudging
- Ability to work with individuals who use substances and/or experience mental health issues
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Clear Vulnerable Sector Search, Diver’s abstract and a Clear Adult Abuse Registry Check are required.
