**Job Title**: Human Resources Generalist
- Part Time

**Job Summary**

**Essential Functions**:
Hiring
- Ensure job descriptions are current and consistently written
- Write and post job opening announcements
- Conduct background checks, check references and perform social media searches of filtered applicants
- Conduct online and telephone interviews and recommend next actions
- Assist with final interviews, if requested
- Prepare welcome kits for new hires
- Develop and maintain interview question banks

Training
- Assist managers in developing onboarding and orientation programs
- Assist managers with ongoing training programs
- Survey employees annually to find what they want and what they need
- Ensure Wiki is up to date with current training and reference materials
- Edit and maintain policy manuals and procedures
- Attend webinars and training as needed

Administration
- Investigate internal complaints, gather information and conduct interviews where required
- Schedule annual development reviews in conjunction with managers
- Assist managers with performing annual development reviews, including gathering 360 feedback
- Ensure employee files and contracts are up to date
- Conduct exit interviews to gather data for improving employee satisfaction
- Conduct market research and other means to ensure Simply’s employees’ compensation is in line with industry standards
- Ensure the confidentiality of employee information such as personal, medical, workplace investigations, and management strategy to maintain employee confidence and protect operations’ privacy
- Develop and write monthly staff HR newsletter

**Working Conditions**

The HR Generalist has flexibility of working from home or from an office environment at Simply’s head office or from one of the Simply Computing stores. In all situations the person must be available for face-to-face meetings as required. The position requires periods of sitting, standing, and walking. This position requires occasional travel.

- Ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex, systemic problems
- Highly collaborative with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Extremely organized with strong attention to detail
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment; adapts quickly to change

**Education/Experience Required**
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or relevant field
- Additional HR training an asset
- Previous proven experience as an HR Generalist
- Understanding of general HR policies and procedures
- Good knowledge of employment and labour laws

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 4 hour shift
- Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Vancouver, BC : reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Human resources: 2 years (preferred)
