**Community Building Facilitator**

We are looking for a facilitator to work in community in the Red Deer area. This is to facilitate connections alongside a young man with intellectual disabilities who is currently enrolled at Red Deer Polytechnic. He is an active young man who enjoys spending time outdoors, sports, and cars. Throughout his week, he attends the fitness center and is interested in boxing, bowling, and exploring local groups. He requires the support of someone reliable, engaging and who will be committed to his inclusion in all areas of his life. As his support person, your responsibilities would include facilitating inclusion within the Red Deer community and seeking opportunities for him to connect with other young people with similar interests. and possibly employment support.

Successful applicant will possess:

- a steadfast belief and commitment to inclusion
- an active lifestyle and engaging personality
- ability to be to work independently to carry out goals set out by the young man and his family
- demonstrate a willingness to learn and have a strong ability to take initiative to try new ideas
- excellent facilitation and coaching skills in the development of the young man’s skills in various settings
- must be reliable, possess good judgment and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Post-secondary education is beneficial and previous experience working with children/youth/adults with disabilities is an asset, but not required. A current clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search is required. A valid Class 5 driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and applicable insurance is required.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.50-$21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 25 per week
