Decathlon Canada is recruitingWe are looking for an English Localization Specialist, Translator, Copyeditor (40h/week) who will be largely responsible for translating and revising product descriptions. What you will be doing - Revise, translate and localize content from en\_GB to en\_CA and fr\_FR/CA to en\_CA using various platforms (content types include technical sports product descriptions, structured data, meta-descriptions, metadata, and video subtitles) - Revise and translate HR and other internal documents - Play a key role in the proofreading of material translated by external translation agencies and guarantee cultural appropriateness and locale accuracy - Research terminology and contribute to the design and maintenance of a local term base, glossary, and writing style guide - Contribute to quality control by routinely performing quality checks and compiling feedback for translation agencies - Revise, translate, proofread a variety of content, working closely with a number of teams and stakeholders (e-commerce, communications, design) - Cover for head copywriter during holidays and absences (tasks can include translating and adapting tips and advice articles created in France and Great Britain for the Decathlon Advice platform, creating editorial content for Decathlon Canada's website and for advertising campaigns, and drafting newsletters) - Assist with other localization-related tasks and priorities as needed. Priorities can change quickly and frequently. What are we looking for - Native proficiency in Canadian English - Intermediate proficiency in Canadian French (both written and spoken) - 2-years experience in FR > EN translation and/or copyediting - Bachelor’s degree in translation or a related field (writing, communications, etc.). - Proven time management and the ability to meet deadlines - Excellent writing skills and a high-level command of the English language, especially the rules of syntax, terminology, punctuation and grammar - Experience with translation software and systems (CAT tools), and the ability to quickly learn how to use new work tools - Working knowledge of SEO principles and trends Assets - Agile and an adaptable mindset at work.
