**Job Summary**

The Project Coordinator is responsible to facilitate and manage project activities within the 5 phases of a Project’s Lifecycle: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Controlling and Closing. The type of work and projects are within the area of contracting and consulting services related to administrative, industrial, and mining projects. The Project Coordinator supports team members involved in the project to ensure activities are executed efficiently and effectively. The Project Coordinator must exercise great communication, administrative abilities, organization, preparedness, and the timely delivery of actions and deliverables. The job requires flexibility in adapting to various work settings such as office settings, industrial settings, and underground mines.

**Key Areas of Responsibility and Associated Duties**
- Promote a safe working environment, safe work practices, communicate safety issues, housekeeping issues, opportunities and progress related to the work at-hand
- Assist in the execution of all project processes including project initiating activities, planning and scheduling, execution of work, monitoring and controlling and closure activities
- Support team members as required to execute workflow processes as related to the Project Coordinator’s area of responsibility
- Facilitating the effective communication between project stakeholders which may include various personnel, work disciplines and departments such as operations, maintenance, engineering and project groups
- Facilitating the planning & scheduling activities and required follow-up activities including communications, coordination of work, meetings or checkpoints
- Developing, managing and communication project schedules and associated details
- Developing and managing project documentation such as forms, permits, reports, etc.
- Developing project reports, information tracking methods and processes related to time, cost, scope and quality of projects
- Developing solutions to meet the client requirements such as the integration of tracking logs & organizational tools, proposal of supports in areas of need, working with team members to identify required supports, among other types
- Review work requests, work orders and scope changes to ensure adequate information is provided to identify the level of priority and prepare action plans
- Manage the work request, work order and project activities backlogs
- Manage processes for work that requires a Management of Change (MOC) process and facilitate and/or assist the MOC process (if required)
- Communicate with various department personnel to ensure planned and scheduled work is completed as scheduled
- Measure KPI’s and manage reports relating to project schedule compliance, time, cost, scope and quality related to the work and project activities

**Education**
- College Diploma in Technical Discipline (i.e. Mechanical Engineering Technologist, Technician) or equivalent certificate in a related trade discipline required

Or,
- University Degree in engineering, technology, technical or similar background
- Preferred education in mechanical, structural, manufacturing, construction, or civil disciplines

**Preferrable Experience**
- 2 years of experience in a technical or supervisory role (i.e. planning, supervision, engineering) working within operations, maintenance, planning & scheduling or engineering functions
- 2 years of experience working within an industrial unionized setting
- 2 years working in construction, mining, industrial or trades work
- Familiarity with quality control and quality assurance related to constructions

**Special Training or Certificates **(Preferred but not required)
- Technical Training/Certifications (i.e. reliability, planning, trade specific)
- Project Management Training/Certifications

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Self-starter with the ability to work with limited or no supervision for extended periods of time
- Proficiency and ability to read and understand various engineered drawing types (i.e., mechanical, structural, process maps, single line diagrams, etc.) and technical documents
- Excellent interpersonal skills required including an ability to work collaboratively with others in fast paced, structured and reactive work environments
- Ability to collaborate with personnel of diverse professional disciplines
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to integrate the necessary resources together to complete the required work
- Ability to manage priorities
- Excellent organizational, analytical and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- Ability to manage and work under pressure or within tight timelines
- Ability to identify conflicts or issues in work processes
- Ability to identify or develop opportunities for improvement or action plans
- Proficiency in identifying risk in all aspects of work processes
