Payroll Coordinator

The **Payroll Coordinator** is responsible for the electronic processing of payroll and benefits for ROCK staff. The coodinator will ensure both legal compliance with both federal and provincial legislation and adherence to ROCK policies.
The coordinator is required to be highly organized and accurate, while maintaining a welcoming presence in order to interface with staff as a valuable resource in their understanding of their compensation packages.
Please note this is a permanent, full time position.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Process the full payroll cycle through the Human Capital Management (HCM) system for salaried and hourly employees.
- Process and distribute all payroll related forms, i.e. ROE’s, T4s, T5s, etc.
- Ensure that monthly and year end regulatory filings are completed on a timely basis.
- Analyze and reconcile group benefit plans and RSP contributions with statements.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Monitor compliance with federal/provincial laws and ROCK policies.
- Liaise with HR on new hires, terminations, remuneration, headcount, conditions of service, and other relevant matters, as well as the preparation of relevant payroll information.
- Stay abreast of compliance requirements and industry best practices, assist with changes or modifications to existing policies and programs to remain in compliance, and adopt best practices where feasible.
- Day to day administration of payroll system (HCM).
- Operationalize client safety through adhering to established policies and guidelines that ensure consistency in the delivery of quality and safe care, and by identifying and reporting any client safety incidents.
- Abide by the specific requirements of Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as any further health and safety responsibilities outlined in the agency’s policy and procedure document.
- Other duties and projects as may be reasonably assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**_
Education:_**
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, or a related area.
- Membership with the Canadian Payroll Association preferred.
**Experience**:
- A minimum of three years’ experience working with Ceridian Dayforce preferred.
**_Skills:_**
- Understanding of Human Resources.
- Strong knowledge of federal and provincial payroll legislation.
- Superior ability to wok well with others and be an effective team member.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively and professionally communicate with both internal and external customer
**_Additional requirements:_**
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Proficient in the use of technology as required of the position, including working in a virtual environment with. MAC OS operating systems experience preferred.
- Current (within three months) criminal reference check.
