Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager will be accountable for providing a full range of consultative support and service to business leaders to support the development and delivery of people solutions that align to the vision and strategies of the company. This role provides support to assigned business regions and/or functional groups. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for day-to-day HR management activities including employee relations, policy interpretation & implementation, and performance management. In addition, the Human Resources Manager will support and implement corporate related projects, processes and initiatives. The Human Resources Manager will partner, consult and contribute to business unit decisions and strategy and translate these strategies into tangible HR priorities while ensuring the business and/or functional group complies with all applicable legislation and internal policies.
**In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to**:
Provide both strategic and tactical HR Support to a regional group of corporate and front-line employees across multiple locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide HR related advice and coaching to business groups and leaders on matters related to HR policy or practices, workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, compensation decisions, structures and organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
- Identify people related themes across business group and recommend new approaches and policies/procedures to effect continual improvements in both productivity and HR process development, leveraging available data to make recommendations for a variety of complex and unique employment issues
- Elevate people managerial capabilities by providing advice, support and coaching to people leaders on all people and talent matters to align business goals with GWLRA values and priorities
- Assist employees and leaders on accommodation requests, short
- and long-term disability processes, and return to work plans.
- Initiate and implement Human Resources programs to achieve business objectives and ensure HR support for internal customers
- Support cyclical HR processes for supported business groups
- Assist with the development and delivery of employee or management training
- Participate and support special projects as requested, partnering with HR and business team members to drive and effectively deliver complex HR initiatives and projects

QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of HR generalist experience
- CHRL and/or CHRP designation an asset
- Completion of relevant post-secondary education
- Strong collaborative and business partnering skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization
- Strong communication skills that can help facilitate difficult conversations
- Effective presentation skills and the ability to assist in the development and delivery of employee or management training
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative, discretion, and tact
- Proven track record with process improvement, HR projects, and change management
- Bilingual French and English
