- Managing staff: This involves overseeing the work of servers, kitchen staff, and other employees to ensure that they are meeting performance expectations and following established procedures. The supervisor may need to schedule staff, delegate tasks, and provide guidance and feedback.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction: The supervisor is responsible for ensuring that customers have a positive experience at the restaurant. This may involve greeting customers, resolving complaints, and ensuring that food and drinks are prepared to the customer's satisfaction.
- Overseeing operations: The supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the restaurant runs smoothly. This may include monitoring inventory levels, ensuring that equipment is in good working order, and overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of the restaurant.
- Ordering supplies: The supervisor is responsible for ordering supplies such as food, beverages, and cleaning supplies. They need to ensure that supplies are ordered in a timely manner and that they are of the highest quality.
- Developing menus: The supervisor may be involved in developing menus that meet the needs of the restaurant's customers. They may need to consider dietary restrictions, seasonal ingredients, and the availability of certain items.
- Maintaining hygiene and safety standards: The supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the restaurant is clean and that employees follow hygiene and safety protocols. This may involve monitoring food preparation areas, ensuring that equipment is sanitized, and training employees on proper food handling procedures.
- Handling customer complaints: The supervisor is responsible for promptly and professionally addressing customer complaints. They may need to investigate the complaint, apologize to the customer, and take corrective action to prevent the issue from occurring again.
