**Purpose**

Reporting to the Manager of Language Portfolio, the Archivist and Liberian professional will be co-responsible for the Indigenous Language Project historical data and other policy files as needed. Mainly coordination and captaining the archiving methods and data relating to languages on project hard drives

**Scope**

The Archivist Professional will be conducting culturally grounded, trauma-informed, and gender-based research and methods supporting future project coordination as part of community-based projects. As well as providing analytical insights to future language development and grassroots recommendations.

**General Duties**
- Facilitate the development of the archive mitigation, in relation to the language projects.
- Conduct analysis of culture language trends using resource scans.
- Awareness of qualitative and quantitative research and analysis.
- Synthesize existing library and archives documents including evidence and empirical data from NWAC’s briefing notes on languages and information and engagement sessions to develop culturally innovative knowledge sharing.
- Culturally translate products and resources that align with community needs and priorities.
- Assist in delivering the online Workshops and presentations,
- Assist in the development of materials for the Culture and Languages program.
- Assisting in establishing and executing effective networking strategies with various stakeholders such as: academics, provincial and territorial associations, Indigenous women, and gender-diverse community members and their families, Indigenous non-profit organizations, and private sector stakeholders.

**Education, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities**
- Undergraduate degree in related discipline or experience equal to the knowledge needed to perform at a high level.
- Master’s Degree is considered an asset.
- 1-3 years of experience in program coordination and/or research within a non-profit community organization.
- Experience and proficiency in program planning, developing, implementing, and evaluation.
- Other the duties in the language portfolio as may be required.
- Participatory and community-based research approaches.
- Indigenous language knowledge systems.
- Indigenous language research methodologies and strengths-based approaches in research.
- Individual, institutional, and systemic issues affecting language and Indigenous women and communities in Turtle Island and Inuit Nunangat.
- Ability to respectfully conduct Indigenous language research and analysis with Indigenous peoples and present information in various reports.
- Ability to develop recommendations to support senior management with their decision-making processes with policy directions as it relates to the Languages portfolio.

- Fluency in English is essential.
