The Maintenance Technician is responsible for facility preventative maintenance program initiatives, coordination of upgrades and repairs, and all required building maintenance and repairs.

The Maintenance Technician collaborates within the multi-disciplinary team reporting to the Maintenance Lead. Some of the primary responsibilities the Maintenance Technician include carrying out department goals and objectives and provide feedback to manager, contacting and following up with contractors as determined by the manager, disposing of and handling hazardous materials according to WHMIS and department policies and guidelines, performing general repairs involving building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, window and floor repairs etc., completing minor carpentry and renovation projects, performing scheduled maintenance based on weekly, monthly and yearly preventatives maintenance programs, checking maintenance care program regularly for tasks and follow through and assisting with furniture/resident moves.

**Please note you need to be comfortable working within a Covid-19 Positive site. All employees will be provided with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).**

**All new employees are required to have received at minimum, two (2) doses of a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine prior commencing employment.**

**Required Experience and Education**:

- 5th Class Power Engineer or Building Operator “B”.
- At least two (3) years of technical experience.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience in a Continuing Care and Support Services industry an asset

**Salary**: $25.00-$27.34 per hour
