**Digital Media and Content Specialist**

Full Time, Contract (12 Months)

Reporting to the Director, MARCOM, the Digital Media and Content Specialist is responsible for daily coordination and administration of the GCA’s social channels ensuring a consistent and impactful social presence; while adhering to best practices. This position requires an experienced digital professional to work closely with the Director to develop and execute digital campaigns by creating social content calendars, updating website content, creating videos and writing content designed to increase traffic to the GCA and Sonderly websites. In addition, this role will be responsible for assisting in the creation and implementation of a digital communication strategy and plan in support of the GCA’s mission, vision and values.

**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Responsible for implementing a social media content strategy that includes but not limited to**:

- Writing, coordinating and producing an array of digital content.
- Working with internal and external contacts in the design, writing, editing and distribution of marketing materials and content on the GCA’s website, social media channels, reports, presentations, events and other forms of communication (i.e. videos).
- Play a vital role in the execution of our digital strategies by creating print, photos and video that tells our story across our social media channels, website, and blog.
- Research, write and produce content about the latest strategies in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), ABA best practices.
- Develop and maintain communication tactics to support and promote the engagement of the elearning user community.

**Assist in the development and implementation of a Communications Strategy and Plan to include but not limited to**:

- Plan and create a social media editorial calendar to nurture and engage the Geneva Centre’s audience and stakeholders.
- Development of channel specific objectives and prioritization based on GCA priorities.
- Write compelling and high-quality website content and blog posts. Regularly update content for maximum optimization and search engine rankings.
- Create reports and analysis that provide insights on key metrics across channels
- Ensure that our voice, tone and style is consistently reflected in all digital communications.
- Evaluate, assess, monitor and measure the impact of performance and effectiveness of communication and outreach tactics and overall plans

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Completion of a post-secondary degree in Communications, Journalism or Marketing and a minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience in digital content creation for web and social channels.
- Must have excellent written communication skills and the ability to write a diverse array of messages that are nuanced, inspiring, or any number of objectives as required.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, and best practices for content development and community engagement across a variety of channels.
- Ability to research, conduct data gathering and gap analysis on existing communication strategies
- Proven ability in integrating digital communication tactics into communication planning, including SharePoint sites, knowledge management platforms, websites, social media platforms, blogs, podcasts, and video elements.
- Exceptional ability to prioritize, problem solve and respond to urgent situations while consistently meeting competing deadlines.
- Understanding of SEO and digital marketing analytics.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and with others as a team.
- An understanding of principles and conceptual issues of ABA an asset.
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and data management systems
- Satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check.
- Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.
