**Role Description**

We are looking to expand our Procurement Department by adding a Junior Procurement Buyer to the team Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Junior Procurement Buyer will be responsible for replenishment purchasing, vendor management, grocery inventory control, and general administrative tasks assigned in relation to procurement.

The Junior Procurement Buyer should have a proven ability to multi-task and operate independently, with strong presentation, communication, and excel skills.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead communications to negotiate prices, identify discounts, and transportation arrangements with multiple current suppliers and new vendors
- Forecast product demands and determine accurate and timely ordering strategies
- Maintain optimal inventory levels while avoiding and minimizing excess stock, factoring in product sales and product shelf - life in inventory and purchasing decisions
- Work cross-departmentally with logistics and accounts payable to ensure a smooth flow of items into the stores, ensuring competitive pricing and optimizing margins
- Maintain an accurate and continuously updated vendor/brand portfolio as well as generate notes and guidelines on how to deal with each vendor/brand within the portfolio including all Procurement Buyer responsibilities.
- Other administrative duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- At least 2-years of experience in Procurement, Category Management, or Office Administration. Buyer or Assistant Buyer experience preferred.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business Admin, or Engineering.
- Computer literacy with a strong familiarity with Microsoft Office and Communication Apps.
- Solid proficiency in Excel (Macros, Pivot Table, Various Functions)
- Driver’s License Preferred
