**About Harmonaire Musique**

Harmonaire Musique is a federally incorporated Canadian non-profit organization headquartered in Montréal. **Internship Overview**

This internship opportunity depends on funding approval from the Conseil des arts de Montréal CultivART Program, supporting emerging Indigenous and racialized artists and cultural workers through mentored, paid internships.

The Arts Administrative Assistant Intern will acquire comprehensive hands-on experience in arts management, event coordination, touring logistics, and administrative support. Working closely with the Executive Director and Artistic Director, the intern will provide vital assistance in concert production, artist reception, communication coordination, and general organizational administration.

This role offers valuable exposure to the day-to-day operations of a professional arts organization deeply committed to inclusion and equity.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Event and Tour On-site Coordination (40%)**
- Assist in the logístical execution of concerts, rehearsals, and special cultural events, including venue preparation, artist hospitality, and audience support.
- Support touring operations by helping organize travel, accommodation, transport, and on-site artist care.
- Drive artists locally and provide transportation assistance when required (valid driver’s license mandatory).
- Act as liaison with venues, suppliers, and partners to ensure smooth event and tour workflow.

**2. Administrative & Communication Support (35%)**
- Draft, format, and distribute official correspondence, event invitations, and internal documentation.
- Maintain and update contact databases, track sponsorships, and support outreach activities.
- Respond professionally to stakeholder inquiries and assist in media relations support.

**3. Team Collaboration & Reporting (15%)**
- Attend weekly or biweekly staff meetings, take minutes, and monitor task progress.
- Coordinate with marketing, production, and administrative teams to align operations and communications.
- Prepare regular progress and post-event reports summarizing activities, outcomes, and lessons learned.

**4. Professional Development & Mentorship (10%)**
- Participate in approximately 150 hours of individualized mentorship under the Executive Director and Artistic Director, focusing on leadership, equity in the arts, and career advancement.
- Engage in professional development activities including workshops, feedback sessions, and networking opportunities.

**Eligibility & Qualifications**

**Eligibility**
- Self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, Métis)
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Willing to work hybrid (remote + in-person + travel as required).
- Available for approx. 650 hours between January and December 2026, with flexible weekly scheduling.

**Education & Experience**
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in arts administration, cultural management, event production, or related fields preferred.
- Prior experience in office administration, event coordination, or project support is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record strongly preferred due to transportation responsibilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Workspace, and digital communication tools.
- Familiarity with arts funding processes and non-profit operational procedures is an asset.

**Skills & Attributes**
- Outstanding organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to multitask efficiently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required; French proficiency an asset.
