Customer Quality Specialist

The Quality Engineering works closely with all departments, Suppliers and Customers to ensure that the Eberspaecher meets and exceeds its customers’ quality standards and specifications, including those required by IATF16949 and ISO 14001, for products, processes, services, and documentation. This Customer Quality Specialist will also act as the Company H&S representative.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- **Quality Assurance and Control**:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, customer specific requirements and procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry regulations.
- Maintain and update customer portals as per each customer’s requirements
- Conduct inspections, audits, create Inspection and Test Plans, to verify conformance to specifications.
- Monitor and drive customer-initiated engineering change requests and documentation follow-up (e.g. PPAP, IMDS) in liaison with Product Development, Manufacturing and Quality departments based on initiatives requested by the Customer and communicate with internal team and Suppliers
- Participate in the coordination of the change/release management and production implementation processes and activities
- Create, maintain and update documentations per the expectations of IATF16949 using Automotive Core Tools such as APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, PPAP, IMDS, Conflict Minerals etc.
- Develop and build strong working relationships, internally and externally (suppliers and customers).
- contribute to department and company improvement projects as required.
- Conduct inspections, safe
- launch audits, create Inspection and test Plans, to verify conformance to specifications.
- Maintain and update customer portals as per each customer’s requirements
- Comply with Eberspaecher’s environmental, health & safety, Conflict minerals, recycling, sustainability efforts and quality assurance policies and standards. Report any issues not in compliance to department manager.
- **Quality Audits and controls**:
- Participate in and complete IATF 16949 and ISO14001 related programs and audits
- Conduct regular product audits, process audits, LPA audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products to identify any non-conformances.
- Participate in Customer, Supplier and External Audits as required.
- **Continuous Improvement**:
- Identify areas for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Follow Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle.
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, driving continuous improvement initiatives and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure product specifications are met and to provide guidance on quality-related matters.
- **Problem-Solving and Root Cause Analysis**:
- Lead investigations into quality issues, utilizing root cause analysis techniques to determine underlying problems and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues using root cause analysis tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone diagrams. Drive customer/Supplier failure analysis to completion/closure via the 8D process.
- Implement and participate in corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to address quality concerns and manage cost recovery process with said customers and suppliers.
- **Supplier Quality Management**:
- Evaluate and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive improvements in their processes.
- Make sure that each corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to address quality concerns
- **Training and Development**:
- Participate in company-sponsored training relating to quality, safety, human resources and any other mandated education and training.
- If needed then provide training to employees on quality standards, tools, and techniques.
- Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement across the organization.
- **Health and Safety Representative**:
- In liaison with the EH&SC, and Management, maintain and update specific Health and Safety systems, programs and policies based on government regulations and corporate guidelines., including safety records, accident investigation, emergency procedures, WHMIS, JHSC meetings, and inspections.
- Acting as co-chair on the committee and employee representative, conduct and promote work in a safe and responsible manner and report any safety concerns to H&S Committee; support Espar Health & Safety initiatives by ensuring that every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker is instituted and followed including wearing the required PPE; investigate workplace injuries and coordinate with HR in completing any necessary forms and records, as required, etc.
