**Position: Quality Specialist**

**Location: Mississauga, ON**

**Job type: Permanent, full-time**

**The impact you will have**

**The Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring quality systems meet and exceed the requirements of regulated bodies and corporate quality procedures. Using data analysis and specialist abilities to ensure the quality of products and customer satisfaction. Providing support for Quality Systems, including, but not limited to CAPA, Non-Conformance, Internal Audits, Document Control, Training, and Complaints. This support would include, but is not limited to, procedure creation/revision, process improvement, and facilitation of inter-department meetings, training, and documentation.**

As the **Quality Specialist** you will be responsible for:

- Leads projects to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and company-wide understanding of Quality Systems. Support the development and administration of the customer corrective and preventative action (CAPA), internal non-conformance, document control, training, complaint handling, medical device reporting, and other portions of the Quality Management System.
- Manages the local supplier controls process, including conducting supplier audits, maintaining documentation and reports, providing technical guidance and assistance, and communicating between suppliers and senior management.
- Works with Sales, Marketing, and Service to develop recommendations for product improvements.
- Evaluates the effectiveness and thoroughness of:

- Post-market data trending by manufacturers
- Non-conforming product investigations
- Proposed product changes
- Completed product changes
- Leads, develops, and improves upon Quality Systems training and ongoing programs to improve awareness.
- Leads preparation for at least one Quality System area during audits. Able to speak to at least one Quality System area during audits. Leads audits of at least one area, assists in writing audit report.
- Assist other entities with certifications, including sister companies.
- Serve as lead auditor and/or co-auditor for service center and corporate audits.
- Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management.

**The skills you will need**
- Bachelor of Science, other degrees may be considered based on additional experience, training, and certifications.
- 1-3 years of experience in a QSR/GMP regulated industry. Graduate education or additional training may suffice to reduce requisite years of experience.
- Experience in the Medical Device or Healthcare industry is a plus.
- Must have demonstrated ability to lead a team.
- Must be able to look at processes and problems and consider potential improvements.
- Communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are crucial.
- Must have demonstrated ability to work in a team and achieve results by working with others.
- Expertise in MS Office (advanced abilities with Excel).
- Strong analytical skills to analyze data for trend and potential improvement opportunities.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize; superb attention to detail.
- Valid passport.
- Certified Quality Auditor (preferred).
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher (preferred).
- Must be a self-starter, an entrepreneurial thinker and a rapid decision maker.
- Must be detailed-oriented and complete tasks with a closed-loop approach.
- Ability to prioritize workloads to ensure compliance with regulations and standard operating procedures.
- Solid written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and to interact effective with global quality associates.
