Reporting to the Supervisor, Customer Care and Support Services the Customer Care Clerk | Courier will competently operate a vehicle throughout the County and surrounding area to pick up and deliver a variety of documents, packages, and other items as required to our County owned facilities and any other deliveries within the identified geographic area.
Core Accountabilities
- Communicates in a friendly and professional manner with co-workers and members of the public.
- Daily delivery service to various facilities located within the County and other external deliveries as required.
- Sort items to be delivered according to the delivery route.
- Obtain signature for deliveries when required.
- Drive; load, unload and transport items.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivery of goods.
- Operate and maintain company vehicle safely, efficiently and effectively.
- Perform daily pre and post vehicle checks:

- identify and report any deficiencies
- log and report mileage
- fill and maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle as required.
- Process mail and distribute appropriately.
- Perform general administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
- Manages own time to accomplish goals and priorities.
- Act in a professional and responsible manner to protect the integrity of employees and the business of the County.
- Display a professional and ethical responsibility to protect privacy, use information appropriately, and maintain the confidentiality and security of all information related to employees, business and residents of Rocky View County.
- Work in accordance with the requirements established by the RVC Health and Safety Program and the Alberta OHS Act, Regulation and Code.
- Take reasonable care to protect their health and safety and other persons at or in the vicinity of the worksite while they are working.

Position Requirements
Completion of high school or equivalent along with a minimum five (5) years of driving responsibly and safely.
- Physically able to perform demanding tasks - heavy lifting up to 32 kgs (70 pounds) Note: weights in excess of 70 lbs require assisted lift with appropriate equipment or the assistance of another person.
- Good sense of direction, ability to read and follow maps in rural setting.
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills to internal and external customers.
- Be able to pass a DOT physical.
- Must possess a valid Alberta Operator’s License - Class 5 (non-GDL); and produce a clean driver’s abstract.
- Demonstrate safe and efficient driving skills and compliance with all applicable traffic laws.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience of basic computer functions and Global Positioning System (GPS).
