Happy Tails Pet Retreat is looking for a part time animal care worker at our dog and cat boarding facility. This is a dynamic environment, where many human and animal personalities come through our doors. The welfare of the animals who board with us is our #1 priority, and many aspects of cleaning, caring, physical activity and play are required for this position.

**Expectations**:

- The right person should be patient, caring, and understanding of the many types of pets we care for and should have knowledge of animal behavior.
- They should be self motivated to accomplish tasks, be willing to work with other team members as well as alone, and hold themselves to a friendly and professional standard.
- They will need to _**have a very flexible schedule**_**,** as particular coverage and hours will be required at various and changing times of each month depending on seasons, holidays, and other ongoings at Happy Tails. Schedule would be sent out on a month-month basis.
- They will need to have a vehicle, due to our location 20 minutes NW of Cochrane.
- **Familiarity with using Instagram and other social media would be considered an asset but not required.**_

**Position Duties**:
**-Cleaning of indoor and outdoor dog runs and cat runs**: Mopping, sweeping, laundry, sanitizing walls and dishes, poop scooping, and other cleaning tasks.

**-Feeding dogs and cats**: Ensuring all animals are fed in a timely matter and according to routine and personal animal needs, prepping feed, ensuring medications are given to animals who need it

**-Checking animals in and out**:Ensuring areas are prepared to receive new animals and areas are cleaned as animals leave, learning our online booking system, accepting booking payments

**-Managing outdoor play time**: Ensuring dogs are grouped appropriately and safely, playing with and socializing with the animals, safely moving animals in and out of their runs for play time
