**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Educational Development Coordinator at the Centre of Teaching, Learning, and Innovation (CTLI), the Educational Development and Learning Experience Design Specialist works collaboratively with faculty and staff across the institution and other members of CTLI to enhance the teaching and learning environment.

As a member of the Educational Development team, the Ed Dev/LXD Specialist maintains a dynamic portfolio of services and projects based on instructor and institutional needs. The work of the Educational Development and Learning Experience Design team is grounded in evidence-based practice and the team fosters a culture of curricular excellence by engaging the learning community in designing flexible, relevant, experiential, and sustainable learning experiences. We are relationship-oriented with a focus on supporting, motivating, and building trust and respect with people within project teams and across the institution.

The Ed Dev/LXD Specialist works collaboratively with instructors, the CTLI, and a range of program and service units to provide vision and leadership in planning, developing, and implementing a variety of initiatives designed to support professional development and best practice in learning design for instructors in all learning environments. This individual provides support to enhance good teaching, scholarly teaching, scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), and curriculum design at Lethbridge College.

Strong project management, decision-making, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills is imperative.

Job Duties
- champions and remains current in emerging teaching practices, including educational technology use, best practices in educational development, learning design, and SoTL
- considers equity, diversity, inclusion, relating to teaching and learning and pedagogy
- fosters a culture of innovation in teaching and learning through change and evolution of services and systems, brainstorms creative ways to solve complex challenges
- provides advice and recommendations to instructors and other campus stakeholders regarding best practices in teaching and learning, demonstrates a commitment to excellence in student learning
- provides consultation and support to instructors to encourage growth through reflective practice, SoTL research projects, and/or teaching and learning methods
- plans and facilitates instructor development through workshops, training sessions, communities of practice, and courses, aligns offerings and services to Lethbridge College’s Teaching Excellence Framework
- incorporates Universal Design for Learning into services, strategies, practices, and curriculum design
- works collaboratively with faculty and staff to conduct implementation, curriculum, and program reviews
- assists in planning, developing, implementing, and assessing initiatives designed to support program curriculum and course development and renewal, and assessment (both outcomes based and competency-based)
- applies instructional design skills, design thinking strategies, learning theory, and creativity throughout the course design process to meet the needs of diverse programs and clients
- designs materials in both print and online formats to share knowledge about effective teaching practices
- identifies and leads new educational development projects, initiatives, and partnership opportunities; liaises with a variety of academic and service departments on projects to ensure smooth implementation and evaluates service offerings to make formative improvements
- collaborates with CTLI teams in designing tools to gather evidence on initiatives, analyzing data, and compiling summary reports
- approaches tasks and projects with a collaborative spirit, growth mindset, and willingness to receive feedback and learn from others
- demonstrates the ability to shift back and forth between projects and activities, working on several initiatives simultaneously, manages quality, communication, and timely completion
- works well in a collaborative team environment, working with all other CTLI teams as well as other cross-campus teams, attends and leads team meetings

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related discipline, Masters degree complete or in progress
- Significant and successful teaching experience and facilitation skills are required
- Experience and competence with educational technology is required
