**The Role**:
This is an exciting opportunity to work as an HR Assistant alongside the ET Transport HR team This opportunity will allow you to gain practical hands-on experience in a wide variety of areas including but not limited to; Recruitment & Selection, Onboarding & Orientation, Health & Safety, Engagement & Recognition, Benefits & Compensation, as well as other special projects

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Partner with the HR Team (and hiring managers) on full-cycle recruitment, this may include; initial intake meeting, job postings, screening resumes, conducting phone screens, background and reference checks, as well as creation of offer letters
- Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation, such as; delivering general onboarding correspondence, collecting onboarding documentation, and participating in new hire orientation meeting, etc.
- Assist in the coordination of employee benefit programs, including; group health benefits, employee engagement, recognition awards, as well as year-end events (milestone and holiday parties)
- Participate and contribute to the health and safety program and initiatives
- Respond to general staff inquires surrounding HR policies and procedures
- Assist with HR administrative duties, such as; drafting letters of employment, organization of electronic HR files, and maintenance of hardcopy employee documentation
- Research and contribute new ideas on best-practices for new and existing programs
- Provide support to the HR Team and other ad-hoc projects

**What you need on your resume**:

- General knowledge of HR theories, best practices, legislation and HR resources
- Minimum 1 year working experience in a customer service role
- Previous experience in an office environment and/or experience in HR, considered an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Bilingualism, French and English, considered an asset)
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact with sensitive material and information
- Highly organized, able to juggle competing priorities and adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
- Self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn
