Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effective management of the Building Service staff- Overseeing the coordination of routine and preventative minor maintenance on building finishes, fixtures, amenities, and equipment done internally or externally- Ensuring jobs are scheduled with contractors, completed to satisfaction, and properly invoiced in alignment with AP deadlines and requirements- Administering expenses for the department by managing select accounts inline with the prepared budget Monitoring turnaround times, actions, responses, and frequency of tenant and department requests through the Angus platform- Producing accurate and organized reports and or summaries on department-related items in a timely manner- Assisting in preparing documentation for building certifications and code-required reviews- Ensuring department inspections are complete in full with remediation on actionable items- Maintaining proper inventory levels and control measures while ensuring storage spaces are safe and organized- Coordinating and maintaining department Work Authorization & Safe Work Permits- Identifying hazards and ensuring department work is practiced in accordance with all Brookfield Properties Safe Work Procedures including the execution and collection of JHAs (Job Hazard Analysis)- Participating in emergency response and fire alarm procedures- Assisting with tenant and building events through coordinating the Building Service Departments’ responsibilities- Flexibility with working hours is required, including occasional overtime- Updating and maintaining standard operating procedures for the Building Services team- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
SERVICE / PERSONAL SKILLS:
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment- Aptitude to remain enthusiastic and motivated when redirection occurs- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Outstanding customer service skills with a positive attitude- Capacity to balance both day-to-day office work and site visits within the building- Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy- Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills- Internally motivated to complete projects successfully by established deadlines- Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
EXPERIENCE & TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- 2 - 5 years experience in a property management environment, preferably in a large complex- Must have previous supervisory experience- Previous project management knowledge preferred- Intermediate levels in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
EDUCATION / DESIGNATIONS / LICENSES:
- High school graduate or equivalent- Completion of post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset- Working towards an industry designation, RPA or FMA is considered an asset
