The Employee reports to the Executive Director. The Employee may also bring concerns to any
member of the board.
**Requirements**:
Attendance for Work
1. To work a total of a 40-hour work week. Regular working hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday
to Friday should be maintained with flexibility to allow for evening / weekend event
coverage within the scope of the 40-hour work week. All scheduling must be approved
by the Immediate Supervisor.
a) Notify the Immediate Supervisor when unable to attend for work.
b) To the extent reasonably possible, schedule medical and other personal
appointments, as well as personal phone calls, for times that do not conflict with
work duties.

3. Exercise vigilance over New Hope Dog Rescue Inc. (NHDR) property to prevent damage.
4. Report any damage or potential damage to Employer property to the Immediate
Supervisor.
5. Turn over all New Hope Dog Rescue Inc. property to the Immediate Supervisor on
termination of employment or sooner if requested by the Immediate Supervisor.
General Overview
The position of Fundraising and Events Coordinator manages a variety of marketing and
fundraising areas, and works cooperatively with the Executive Director, Executive Committee
and volunteers to improve the overall efficiency of all aspects of fundraising activities. Primary
objectives include:
6. Maintain Standard Operating Procedure Manuals for each fundraiser detailing timelines,
budget, sponsors, venue, equipment needs, volunteer involvement, post-event
evaluations
7. Manage existing key relationships ensuring donor retention and partnerships with a
range of businesses and identifying and developing prospective relationships, sponsors
and donors

8. Plan, implement and monitor third-party fundraising events
9. Grow and develop current fundraising events and initiatives
10. Develop and implement a capital fund campaign strategy under the direction of the
board of directors
Duties
11. Manages and oversees the organization’s current and future fundraising initiatives and
events.
12. Develops and supervises all internal and external event communication plans.
13. Recruits sponsors for events by fostering beneficial relationships with patrons,
businesses and foundations.
14. Develops corporate relationships and is available to meet with potential partners,
sponsors and donors to explain NHDR’s mission, philosophy and long-term plans.
15. Manage existing key relationships with a range of donors and supporters and identifying
and developing prospective partnerships, sponsors and donors.
16. Develops strategies to encourage new and increased contributions and donations.
17. Assist in the development of event committees to facilitate individual events by
providing suggestions and guidance based on experience, standards and best-practices.
18. Works in partnership with the Executive Director and the volunteer coordinator to
provide opportunities for community support through volunteering and donations.
19. Create and update standard operating procedures for each event and ensure that post
- event assessments are completed.
20. Create gift policies and procedures.
21. Act as the main contact for 3rd party fundraisers. Ensures that appropriate agreements
are created and signed.
22. Oversee the development and expansion of fundraising events conducted by NHDR,
including but not limited to: online fundraising initiatives, special appeals, campaigns,
annual / biannual events, ad-hoc events etc.
23. Oversee all aspects of lottery campaigns (lotteries, raffles, 50/50s), ensuring compliance
with all regulations of Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Association; prepare lottery
24. Speak on behalf of / represent NHDR with regards to the promotion of events,
fundraisers, special campaigns and requests to all forms of media (social, radio, print,
video, etc.). Update social media and website with information, coming events etc.

**Qualifications**:
The qualifications of the position which may include, but not limited to:
relations management and events coordination with knowledge of non-profit budgeting and
financial practices. Self-motivation, passion, drive and professional polish are required for this
position. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
position is currently remote, with the potential to move to a hybrid working situation in the
future. The ability to travel to promotional and fundraising events is required. Knowledge of
animal welfare is essential.
