**Job Synopsis**
The Material Resources & Events Coordinator works to oversee the Material Resources program at MCC Saskatchewan. Coordinating the procurement of material aid as requested by the MCC system, this role plans for and participates in various events and activities related to MCC’s MR program including several material aid packing events each year. This role requires some travel, including an annual, out-of-province meeting with colleagues.
This position also works to facilitate MCCS’ Relief Sale Festival - a primary, annual day-long event bringing together hundreds of volunteers, supporters and serving as MCC Saskatchewan’s largest public facing fundraising event of the year. This role will also help facilitate other donor-focused events, as applicable and time allows.
Some flexibility will also be required for evening and weekend work. This is a salaried, part-time position (0.8 FTE or 30 hours/week).

**Qualifications**
**Required**
- High school diploma
- Project management or experience in a warehouse setting, preferred
- Excellent organizational abilities and time management skills
- Proven ability to work independently with a strong focus on outcomes
- Ability and willingness to work with a database
- Strong administrative skills to manage and track large quantities of information
- Effective communication skills - both written and verbal, in person and telephonically
- Proven relational skills - the ability to relate to people in a positive and collaborative manner
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- A satisfactory police check required upon hire
- Must be able to legally work in Canada
**Preferred**
- Working knowledge of database and inventory management
- Experience with donor relations strategies, administration, and content development for effective stewardship practices
- Familiarity with the MCC Saskatchewan constituency
**Key Responsibilities**
**Material Resources**:
- Shape and coordinate the MCCS response to material resource needs, in consultation with the broader network as needed.
- Review Material Resource goals annually, monitoring and reporting on activities.
- Prepare annual budget, including tracking and reporting on revenue and expenses.
- Track and acknowledge MR donations using the Material Resource Inventory (MRI) database.
- Communicate with the constituency through written and verbal channels regarding material resource requests, while collaborating with the Donor Relations Team and the Marketing/Communications Coordinator to develop and implement a fundraising strategy for material resource kit supplies.
- Ensure the timely collection, packaging, and shipment of goods (3 - 5 major shipments/year) requested by the material resource network
- Responsible to maintain all aspects of the Material Resource program in the warehouse, including:
- Receive shipments and material resources and maintain material resource inventory.
- Prepare bales/drums/buckets for shipment.
- Manage the shipping logistics, including contact with shipping companies.
- Recruiting, training, and managing warehouse volunteers
**Volunteer Management**
- Develop volunteer base with ability to:
- Plan and coordinate kits, quilt making, etc.
- Purchase têxtiles and supplies as needed to ensure fulfilment of MCCS project commitments.
- Maintain quality control standards for any goods shipped from Saskatchewan.
- Maintain regular communication with volunteer groups, ensuring standards are met, morale remains high, and any questions or concerns are addressed, as well as, showing appreciation and impact of their involvement.
- Oversee health and safety compliance at the MCC Center, while sharing impact stories and expressing appreciation for their contributions.
- Coordinate and implement database record-keeping of Material Resource volunteers.
**Event Coordinator**
- Kit Packing
- Organize and oversee approximately 12 - 15 small group material resource kit-packing events and one large-scale event (Buckets of Thanks) annually.
- Support groups in fundraising efforts and express appreciation to groups and churches that participate in kit packing either independently or at the MCC Center
