**Position Details**:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Accounting, the main purpose of this position is to ensure all payables are settled in a timely manner.

**What You Will Do**:

- Check accuracy of account codes, authorization, limits on cheque requisitions
- Prepare vouchers and payment batches, print cheques/EFT, copy/scan cheques along with invoices to maintain company master vendor files
- Process commission payments to brokers within five business days
- Communicate with vendors and brokers regarding payments, disputes, etc.
- Communicate intercompany regarding intercompany payments
- Preparing monthly corporate and commodity tax cheques
- Download all bank account activity for company every month end
- Carry out stops and voids for cheques issued on request
- Prepare daily cash position and advise for transfer to inter bank accounts
- Verify all large cheques issued by bank on previous day
- Deposit cheques daily
- Create letters to bank for fraud cheque reimbursement and coordinate with claims on the issue
- Make bank transfers, wire transfers on instructions or management request
- Process Management fee as per directions
- Assist in preparation and analysis of monthly departmental expenses reports
- Upload journal entries into appropriate GL
- Updating Broker & Vendor information into Finance (Epicor) system
- Assist in monthly, quarterly & annual Financial Statements and reporting package
- Year-end Audit functions - prepare working papers for auditor’s review, discuss variances, if any and provide explanations
- Assist in other ad hoc projects when required (reforecast, budgeting)
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Who You Are**:

- Post-secondary education - college diploma with a focus on Accounting
- Minimum 1 year of accounts payable experience preferred in month end close procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on providing excellent customer service
- Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
- Strong time management skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)
