The Business Partner, Communications will participate in communications planning, crisis communications, and issues management.

Working closely with the Stakeholder Relations and Planning team, internal business clients, and external partners, this role works to assure organization culture, brand and operational practices and behaviours are well-aligned in all communications.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

- Actively assists in the development and execution of corporate communications plans and activities as required to support the brand, goals and reputation of Alberta Innovates.
- In collaboration with members of the Communications team and organizational clients, develop and produce digital content that engages identified audiences and/or stakeholders.
- Supports development of high-integrity social influencer and digital activations, and partner/program cross-promotions as requested.
- Writes and edits social media posts and content for internal and external websites.
- Develops a digital media communications strategy for Alberta Innovates that aligns with and advances our business strategy and amplifies corporate brand awareness
- Coordinates and manages external vendors regarding our digital communications, ensuring vendors are meeting contracts and supporting the billing process in partnership with Finance.
- Provides content/publishing guidance to optimize corporate and subsidiary website(s) as integrated enterprise channels and client-supportive tools.
- Prepares data analytics and digital media reports and presentations to enable optimal deployment and continuous progress in the enterprise omni-media strategy.
- Analyzes web traffic and metrics to produce usable, value-added insights.
- Develops relationships with internal/external stakeholders, industry colleagues and outside service providers to remain current on industry best practices, emerging trends, new digital technologies, tools, and platforms and to proactively drive digital communications for the organization.

**Qualifications and skills we are looking for**:

- Bachelor’s degree in digital media, communications, public relations, marketing, information technology, or a related field
- Minimum four years related experience, focused on social media, digital marketing and website builds and maintenance.
- Knowledge of social media trends, social analytics, and digital tools and platforms to continuously improve effectiveness of intranet and corporate website.
- Proficient knowledge of HTML, WordPress, Adobe Core Design Programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, DreamWeaver, Acrobat)
- Proficient in use of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager & other SEO tools
- Proficient in designing and running social media advertising campaigns
- Ability to assess communication needs and provide tailored advice to clients or internal stakeholders.
