We are looking to hire a Construction Safety Office/Site Coordinator to be a part of our Installation & Service team. The Construction Safety Officer/Site Coordinator is responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines. The primary objective of this role is to always ensure a safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents. Additionally, this role is also responsible to facilitate the day-to-day administrative activities and functions at the site.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Visiting work sites to ensure all sites are following occupational health and safety (OSH) guidelines, have proper equipment & a first aid person.
- Plan and implement OHS policies and programs.
- Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
- Prepare educational seminars and webinars.
- Review existing policies and procedures.
- Set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety orientation.
- Conduct risk assessment at work sites
- Enforce preventative measures at work sites.
- Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions.
- Adhere to all the rules and regulations & ensure all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations.
- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine cause.
- Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could jeopardize employees' safety.
- Assists with onboarding of new employees.
- Prepare biweekly hourly report and ensure that employees are using their timesheets properly and are properly tracking their hours.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Construction, Occupation Health & Safety, or related field
- 5 years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a similar role
- Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices & experience of drafting policies and procedures for health and safety
- Ability to deal with sensitive or difficult situations and maintain confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of Employment Standards, Human Rights, WorkSafe BC regulations & other occupational health and safety legislations
- Proficient with computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Works with a sense of urgency, is well organized and capable of meeting deadlines
- Willing to travel to work sites
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Working knowledge of safety management information system

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
