Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable CSO to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees and visitors within our clients sites. This position involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety protocols to create a safe working environment. The CSO will also be responsible for conducting safety audits, training staff on safety practices, and ensuring compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.

Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards.
  • Provide training sessions for employees on safety practices and emergency procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and report any violations.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Utilize construction management software to track safety metrics and improvements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in a construction or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of local, provincial, and federal safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions effectively.
  • Proficient in using construction management software for tracking safety data.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must have CSO designation. NCSO preferred.
