**Veterinary office assistant/ Receptionist**

**Job Description**:
Ridgeview animal hospital**, a brand-new clinic** located in Fraser Heights of Surrey, BC will be opening its doors to new clients and their pets in this late summer. We will be providing veterinary care for companion animals (cats and dogs) and are equipped with **brand new X-ray facility, dental care facility, surgery facility, exam rooms **and much more to provide the best care for our furry friends.

We are currently looking for new staff members to join our team of two Veterinarians.

An individual to join our expanding team must have a passion for animals, motivated, team-oriented, customer-focused, empathetic and well organized.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include but not limited to,
- Welcoming patients and clients and directing them to the Exam room, recording medical history, patient and client information, and reason for the visit and recording patient vitals. (Patient intake)
- patient restrain for examinations and diagnostics and other medical procedures
- Processing patient's biological samples, making requisitions, and sending to the lab or running inhouse testing
- Answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, providing the information to the clients regarding our services and prices, maintaining patient records and performing other clerical works (Ordering food, medications and supplies to the clinic)
- Processing payments, submitting insurance claims, selling food and supplements and other over the counter products
- keep the premise clean and tidy all the time and cleaning and sterilizing the exam rooms and kennels.
- Assisting the veterinarian for surgeries, patient monitoring, preparing surgical instrument packs and autoclaving
- Dispensing the medications under the supervision of veterinarian

Qualifications and education
- Graduation from an accredited VOA program is preferred

- Previous experience in veterinary field is preffered

Expected starting date: early to mid September.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: $16.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Surrey, BC V4N 1P3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (preferred)
- Front desk: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
