Position Summary

We are looking for a friendly, motivated Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and enjoys working directly with both clients and their pets in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist clients in person and by phone; schedule appointments and manage daily workflow.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and handle client communications.
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas; clean and restock supplies as needed.
  • Process payments, prescriptions, and invoices.
  • Ensure clinic cleanliness, organization, and positive client experience.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal-care environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
  • Comfortable with computers and veterinary software (Avimark experience an asset).
  • Able to handle animals safely and compassionately.
  • Team player with strong multitasking abilities.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay Rate: $18 – $24 per hour (based on experience)
  • Hours: 32 – 40 hours per week, including some weekends
