**Job Duties and Requirements**:
The Human Resources Managers shall plan, organize, direct, train, and assist with controlling the operations of the Human Resources department. Assist with developing and implementing policies, programs and workplace practices /procedures regarding such things as but not limited to; administration, communication, hourly and salary compensation, benefits, health and safety, claims management, recruitment, selection and retention, research and development, training, termination, and succession planning. Additionally, the Human Resources Manager shall represent Senior Management by and through actively participating in various joint committees to maintain ongoing relations between Management and employees.

**Employee Relations Policies and Procedures**

Enforce and ensure:

- Hiring and Orientation procedure
- Performance Appraisal procedure
- Targeted Training for skills gap and/or career development
- Rules of Personal Conduct
- Progressive Discipline procedure
- Communication procedure
- Layoff/Recall and Termination procedure.
- Vacation procedure
- Proper payroll administration (i.e., banked time, overtime, termination, etc.)

**Qualifications**
- College or University degree, preferably in Human Resources
- WSIB Health and Safety Certification is an asset
- CHRP Designation (Certified Human Resources Professional) or in progress of
- Membership with HRPAO
- First Aid/CPR, is an asset

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Strong knowledge of Employment Legislation
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation (i.e. OHSA)
- Ability to communicate and give presentations for small or large groups of attendees
- Ability to use Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
- Exceptional communication and writing skills
- Self-reliant with the ability to follow through on assignments in the absence of guidance
