Excel Career College opened as a computer college in 1989. Since then, the curriculum has expanded dramatically, but our focus has remained the same: To provide relevant training to get you into the workforce quickly.
Since early 2022, Excel Career College has undergone rapid expansion bringing our respected approach to dynamic hands-on learning to students throughout BC including campuses in Victoria, Courtenay, and Kelowna, in addition to our head office in Surrey. Excel is PTIB Designated and maintains representation in the BC Career College Association, including representation on the BCCCA Board. The College is a designated institute through the BC Student Assistance Program(Student Aid BC), and all diploma programs offered at Excel qualify for funding options

**Learning Objectives**
Upon successful completion of this module students will be able to
- Describe a variety of dental procedures
- Recognize the differences in dental offices ie: specialist office vs general practice
- Define and identify deciduous and permanent dentitions
- Understand the eruption schedule for primary and permanent dentition
- Identify the three types of occlusion and the methods of determining class
- Dental terminology
- Identify, name and give the purpose of all teeth within the dental arches
- Correctly identify teeth using Palmer's Notation, FDI and the universal numbering system ∙ understand dental charting by doing manual charting
- Develop a variety of dental administration skills including scheduling, billing, and dental insurance processing procedures.
- Schedule appropriate appointment time units for a variety of procedures with the appropriate technician
- Practice on power practice software

Practical sessions where students develop a variety of administration skills
With your prior experience in teaching in the Dental Industry, courses or workplace training, you'll be able to inspire and educate our students to reach their full potential. To be eligible for this role, you must hold educational or industry experience compatible to be able to teach the core content. In addition, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Your organizational and administrative skills should be exceptional, allowing you to meet deadlines, manage student records, and respond to student inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Post Secondary in dental office procedures, communications, or a related field
- Proven experience in the dental office industry
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday

- Secondary School (required)
**Experience**:
- teaching: 2 years (preferred)
- Dental office: 3 years (required)
