**PROFILE**
Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Firm’s market recognition activities, to increase the external rankings, awards and other recognitions earned for the Firm, its lawyers and its clients. The person in this role is the ‘hub’ for all market recognition-related processes and initiatives.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead the firm’s involvement in legal directories (e.g. Chambers, Legal 500) and rankings or awards (e.g. Canadian Law Awards, CGCAs, Lexpert Rising Stars, FT Innovation Awards, etc.), through structured submissions to publishers and organizations. This includes process mapping, process tracking, project management, and written components.
- Collaborate with firm leaders and BDM managers to identify award submissions, help identify potential nominees, prepare award nomination submissions, and coordinate our participation in award events.
- Track and analyze the firm’s annual rankings results. Conduct regular reviews and analysis of the recognition results and provide reports as required.
- Collaborate with members of the BDM team to promote our successes within the firm and externally, including writing first drafts of internal and external communications (e.g. news articles, social media posts, etc.) that relate to recognition.
- Primary contact with external directories and rankings organizations to facilitate the firm’s participation and maximize our rankings and awards. Foster relationships with key contacts at various legal publishers and communicate opportunities, processes and issues.
- Develop and promote best practices and efficient processes for all submission and nomination channels including leveraging the Firm’s experience management solution.
- Educate and train stakeholders on directories and awards to help improve the firm’s results.
- Main point of contact for the Market recognition module of the Firm’s experience management solution, provide training as required to team members, escalate technical issues to the vendor and contribute to any future enhancements.
- Research and stay current with legal rankings and awards, ensuring that recommendations for new rankings and award opportunities are put forward, in addition to eliminating industry recognitions that may have lost credibility overtime.
- Manage external consultants brought in to assist with market recognition initiatives.
- Participate in the annual budgeting process as it relates market recognition activities.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post secondary education with a focus on business, marketing or communications.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience with market recognition and experience-based intelligence at a law firm or a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a researcher or writer with a legal directory.
- A demonstrated enthusiasm for research-based work and the ability to multi-task.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with mínimal supervision.
- An ability to guide, influence, and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the firm.
- Excellent attention to detail and well-developed writing skills.
- Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to function independently but also comfortable collaborating as part of a team, or with multiple diverse teams simultaneously.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset, but not required for the role.
