Shipper/receiver

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift and/or other equipment required in the shipping and receiving function
- Check incoming and outgoing shipments for correctness and route incoming goods to proper department
- Responsible for loading and unloading trucks
- Responsible for producing paperwork for all outgoing shipments
- Prepares and maintains records and documentation for shipment of materials, parts, finished goods and other related items
- Analyzes production report to schedule shipping activities and arrange for and expedite additional carriers if required
- Arranging for maintenance or service to equipment as required through the Operations or Maintenance Manager
- Performs material handler duties as required
- Will perform other duties pertaining to sorting and repair of skids as needed
- Responsible for keeping the shipping/receiving area clean and free of clutter as well as certain janitorial duties such as proper removal garbage from shop floor
- Assist with inventory counts at month end
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
- Must be a competent fork-lift operator with a safe, reliable and dependable work record
- Must be able to co-operate and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as drivers and dispatchers of various carriers
- Must be familiar with the operation of personal computers
- Must be available to work overtime
- Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization
