**Job Title: Operations Manager** **Reports to: Director of Engineering & Operations** **Job Role/Summary**: Direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, receiving/shipping, warehouse and other plant related activities. Formulates plan and directs those departments responsible for planning, manufacture and shipment of products. Drive lean to deliver continuous performance improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity that meets corporate objectives. Build a high performing lean team and lean culture. **Responsibilities**: **Essential Functions**: **Safety**: - Communicates, insures, and maintains all safety guidelines and standards are followed. - Drive continuous improvement in safety performance as measured by weekly KPIs and action plans. **Quality**: - Ensures and maintains the quality guidelines, procedures, and standards are consistently followed throughout the manufacturing operation. - Consistently delivers quality product that meets customer’s requirements on a timely and cost efficient basis. - Drive continuous improvement in quality performance as measured by weekly KPIs and action plans. **Responsibility & Customer-Driven**: - Drive lean to deliver total customer success, employee continuous improvement culture, and plant KPIs. - Drive companywide Lean (GPS) objectives in operations and in all functional areas to build a companywide sustaining lean culture. - Reviews/drives weekly KPIs and action plans to enable delivery of monthly financial goals and meet customer expectations. **Integrity**: - Ensures compliance with company standards for safety, quality, delivery, cost control and waste reduction. - Creates facility budget within guidelines established to meet operating targets and improvements for each year, and manages facilities with approved budget, communicating issues quickly and effectively. - Communicates facility status regarding key targets, activities, and challenges effectively to company executives, local staff, and members. **Respect**: - Provides leadership in area of employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development. - Identifies training needs and provides all associates opportunity to train. - Develop and maintain an environment which encourages individual contribution and commitment to quality, output, and customer service. **Other Functions**: - Lead/participate in problem solving activities - Lead/participate in Grote Production System (GPS) activities - Other duties assigned by the supervisor. **Competencies**: - ._ - Safety Awareness - Quality Driven - Respectful - Honesty - Customer Driven - Family Oriented - Responsible - Innovative - Responsible Corporate Citizen - Team Player - Positive Attitude - Detail Oriented - Effective Communication - Results Oriented - Process Improvement - Organizational Leadership - Conflict Management - Motivation of Others **Education, Experience, Training, Certifications and Licenses**: **Degree or equivalent experience**: - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management or a related field **Years of experience**: - Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment - Minimum of 10 years of experience driving lean - Minimum of 7 years of experience managing people - Minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership positions of various areas **Training in**: - MS Office - ISO 9001 & TS Certifications is a plus - Black belt in Lean Six Sigma is a plus **Other requirements**: - Good attendance and safety record **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**: **Knowledge in**: - Lean (can teach/drive) - Advanced problem solving - Visual floor and management techniques - Budgeting and financial statements **Skills in**: - Hand-Eye coordination - Attention to detail - Interpersonal relationships - Management - Organization & prioritization - Strategic management **Demonstrated ability to**: - Motivate personnel - Achieve results - Resolve conflict **Experience with**: - Lean - Manufacturing systems, processes, and materials - Managing multiple priorities **Other**: - Must successfully pass any pre-screening test(s) **Travel**: - < 25% - Need required documentation for international travel (i.e. passport) **Work Environment and Physical Demands**: - Manufacturing environment - Standing, sitting and walking for long periods of time - Environment can be hot or cold depending on outside temperatures - Requires flexibility to schedule and work hours - **Grote Industries is committed to developing, maintaining and supporting a culture of equality and diversity in employment in which staff are treated equitably, and where they can realize their potential whatever their age, race, color, nationality, ethnic origin, creed, disability, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, marital or civil partnership status, parental status, religion, belief or non-belief, social or economic class, employment status, or
