YOUR IMPACT
As the Billing Operations Manager at OpenText, you will lead a global billing team focused on delivering process excellence and customer service with a strong emphasis on onboarding and managing payment portal relationships. Reporting to the Senior Director, Billing Operations, you will drive the execution of our Billing strategy while navigating change across a dynamic and evolving organization. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with the overall Order to Cash (O2C) strategy, helping us achieve our billing and cash collection goals.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
- Lead a global Billing Operations team with a focus on process improvement in onboarding and managing payment portal relationships.
- Manage a team and collaborate with stakeholders such as Legal, Contract Management, Sales, Renewals, and external customers.
- Drive achievement of Billing targets, contributing to cash collection objectives and broader O2C strategy execution.
- Define operational goals and delegate responsibilities within the Billing team while overseeing O2C coordination and results.
- Make informed decisions to resolve issues and implement solutions at the departmental level.
- Foster a high-performance team environment through clear communication, feedback, and performance management.
- Represent Billing strategy and requirements with internal and external stakeholders across multiple levels.
- Evaluate and implement policy changes relevant to Billing Operations.
- Manage workforce planning to ensure the right skill sets are available at the right time, balancing automation and varied staffing models.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and influence stakeholder support for process enhancements.
- Lead change and integration efforts associated with acquisitions.
- Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are aligned across regions to support automation and efficiency.
- Guarantee the team’s adherence to legal, financial, and internal control policies.
- Execute on other assigned priorities that support the Billing mandate.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
**Education**:

- University or college degree in a relevant discipline (Finance or Accounting preferred)

**Skills and Experience**:

- Minimum 4 years of experience leading teams, ideally in the software services or high-tech industry
- Demonstrated ability to support all aspects of team management: hiring, development, training, performance, and career growth
- In-depth knowledge of O2C processes with the ability to analyze and solve complex issues
- Expertise in billing operations and project-based experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across customer, supplier, and managerial relationships
- Proven customer service excellence and business partnership capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to champion the billing excellence story
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment (month-end, quarter-end, year-end)
- Self-starter mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement
- Strong collaborator who thrives in problem-solving environments
- Business-driven with a track record of implementing process improvements
- Experience leading through change and fostering resilience
- Knowledge of revenue recognition principles in the software industry is an asset
- Familiarity with the opportunity-to-cash (O2C) business process
