**POSITION: Volunteer Coordinator**

**STATUS: Full-Time (4 Days per week)**

ORGANIZATION

Unionville Home Society (UHS) is a not-for-profit charitable organization located in Unionville that has provided leadership in service to seniors since 1967. Unionville Home Society and its affiliate corporations operate a long-term care home, seniors’ housing, a seniors’ active living center, an adult day program, and geriatric outreach services. **JOB SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources and Customer Service, you will responsible for the coordination of the Volunteer Services Program for the Unionville Home Society Campus.

**ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Day-to-day coordination, administration and evaluation of volunteer programs
- Responsible for recruitment, screening, orientation and integration of volunteers into programs and services
- Liaise and work with community organizations and corporations, including schools, churches, service clubs, etc. to increase awareness of the UHS Volunteer Services Program
- Develop an inventory of volunteer positions
- Appropriately match volunteers with departments in accordance with their needs
- Provide general supervision and support to volunteers who serve on committees and/or operate programs.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the volunteer database to support professional accountability and program management
- Responsible for ensuring all volunteer communications and marketing materials are current and relevant
- Maintain documentation for the volunteer programs
- Ongoing stewardship of volunteers including recognition.
- Ensure that the departmental administrative practices are managed in a productive manner and the UHS policies are maintained and adhered to.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:

- One (1) year of experience in volunteer coordination will be considered an asset
- One (1) year of experience in Long Term Care Environment will be considered an asset

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Productivity software and general office equipment
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Outstanding organizational skills to manage many competing timetables and responsibilities
- Ability to exercise good judgment, tact and diplomacy
- Demonstration of a caring and compassionate attitude while working with the residents, volunteers, placements and external community participants
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Ability to work with a flexible schedule may require occasional weekend work

A valid Vulnerable-Sector Police Record Check and a valid 2-step Mantoux (TB) skin Test and a minimum of three doses of approved COVID-19 vaccination record are all required as part of the recruitment process.

Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: From $22.00 per hour
