Job Overview

Moohan Taekwondo was founded in 2017 to provide quality martial arts training in a way that promotes excellence in technical skills, character development and Taekwondo spirit. We aim to empower the individual, the family, and the community to realize their full potential.

Our Summer Day Camps offer safe, engaging, and fun Taekwondo training along with other indoor and outdoor activities for children ages 5-12.

To be successful as the Summer Camp Coordinator, you should be ready to provide on-site leadership and support to all campers and staff. Your primary duty will be to organize, facilitate, and supervise our summer camp program while ensuring the general safety and overall satisfaction of campers. You must have strong communication skills, demonstrate creativity and innovation, be child and youth focused, and have a strong passion for motivating and inspiring others towards desired outcomes.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee, implement, and coordinate the delivery of camp programing for Moohan Taekwondo summer camp.
- Create a plan for the summer camp program, including weekly themes and activities reflective of the selected themes.
- Greet and welcome campers each day and ensure the accuracy of camp attendance, including the sign-in and sign-out process at drop off and pick up.
- Facilitate camp activities, crafts, projects and games with the support of the Camp Counsellor and Taekwondo Instructor while maintaining participant safety and maximizing the camp experience.
- Provide leadership for the Camp Counsellor and Camp Taekwondo Instructors, ensuring adherence to the training, policies, and procedures introduced in staff training.
- Assist the Taekwondo Instructor with physical activities and martial arts training.
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures are being followed and maintained, and that staff are sharing the duties of keeping the camp facilities clean, organized, and safe in accordance with Health & Safety requirements.
- Provide After Action Reports to management at the end of the contract; highlight areas of success, concern, and improvement.
- Maintain a professional manner at all times.

Qualifications and Skills
- Completed secondary school education
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and be adaptable to change
- Ability to lead and empower a staff team of young leaders
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
- Excellent written communication skills
- Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience in day camp or recreational field
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- First Aid with CPR certified
- Clear Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (we will assist with this if hired)

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
