**Disability Case Manager, Disability Services**

We are currently seeking 4 Disability Case Managers to support the Teachers' Long Term Disability Plan.

**About the team**
The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation Disability Services team administers the Teachers’ Long Term Disability Plan and rehabilitation back-to-work services to teachers.

**What you’ll do**
The Disability Case Managers will be responsible for managing long-term disability (LTD) claims by providing expert assessment and coordination of care to support members through recovery, rehabilitation, and return-to-work processes. Additionally, this position oversees the delivery of cost-effective, quality outcomes through strategic planning and resource coordination, while ensuring compliance with LTD plan text, legislation, and best practices.

Responsibilities include:

- Review and adjudicate long-term disability claims based on medical evidence, occupational requirements, and the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation Plan text ensuring the definition of disability is met.
- Conduct in-depth reviews of the member’s statement of claimant, employer’s statement, and physician reports while ensuring timely adjudication of claims.
- Assess the needs of members with various forms of disabilities and develop a comprehensive case management plan to provide the support needed.
- Interpret medical reports, functional capacity evaluations (FCEs), and vocational assessment reports.
- Approve, deny, or adjust benefits in compliance with the plan text.
- Communicate claim decisions with members and all stakeholders while providing periodic case updates.
- Coordinate and provide care that is safe, timely, efficient, effective, equitable, and member centered.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case documentation in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with members, healthcare providers, school boards, Senior Administrative Staff and other stakeholders to develop individualized return-to-work or accommodation plans.
- Organize and guide collaborative return to work meetings with involved parties.
- Facilitate referrals to third-party services.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with return-to-work programs by stakeholders including the school divisions and the returning member.

**What you’ll bring**
- A bachelor’s degree in Disability Management, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, Nursing (RN), Rehabilitation Counseling or related field plus 2+ years of experience in LTD case management, disability claims, or vocational rehabilitation.
- Certified Disability Management Profession (CDMP), Return to Work Disability Manager (RTWDM), or Group Benefit Associate (GBA) designation would be an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with members, employees at all organizational levels and with officials of other organizations.
- Demonstrated expertise in medical terminology and medical report review and interpretation.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with attention to details.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in case management systems.
