**Overview**
Upholding the values and mission of Cosmopolitan Industries Ltd. the Employment Coordinator is responsible for supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in finding and maintaining meaningful, competitive employment. This includes identifying job opportunities, working with employers, and providing ongoing support to both employees and employers to ensure successful job placements. The Employment Coordinator will work closely with individuals to assess their skills, interests, and needs while providing guidance, advocacy, and training in the job search process.

**Responsibilities**

1. Job Development:

- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential employers who are open to hiring individuals with disabilities.
- Advocate for inclusive hiring practices and educate employers on the benefits of supported employment.
- Match job seekers with appropriate positions based on their skills, interests, and accommodations.

2. Employment Support and Training:

- Provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities throughout the job search and hiring process.
- Develop tailored training programs to help individuals acquire necessary job skills.
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to ensure individuals succeed in their positions.

3. Job Retention and Follow-Up:

- Offer ongoing support to both employees and employers after placement to ensure job satisfaction and to address any challenges.
- Monitor job performance and provide intervention or accommodations as necessary.
- Maintain regular contact with both the employee and employer to ensure retention and job satisfaction.

4. Collaboration and Case Management:

- Work with a multi-disciplinary team including case managers, support workers, job coaches and other support staff.
- Keep detailed records of clients’ progress, job placement data, and any challenges faced.
- Assist with the development of individualized employment plans for each client that addresses their personal goals.

5. Administrative Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of job placements, training sessions, and client progress.
- Develop and prepare formal employer partnership agreements to support employment placements.
- Prepare reports for management as required.
- Participate in training, professional development, and team meetings as necessary.

6. Transportation: Transport or organize transportation for the client to the work site.

7. Safety: Ensure the clients employment placement is safe by assessing employer sites, promoting workplace safety standards, and addressing any concerns related to health, accessibility, or risk.

8. Cross-train for other duties/positions as deemed necessary.

**Skills, Effort and Competencies**:
Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment.

**Education**

Post secondary education in Social Sciences or Human Resources is preferred; however extensive experience in a similar role may be considered in lieu.

**Qualifications**

Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence; must maintain a driving record that is acceptable to Cosmopolitan Industries Ltd. Mandt® Training or Crisis Intervention Training considered an asset. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office.

**Experience**

Two years of related experience providing supports to persons with intellectual disabilities with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

**Communication Skills**

Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Strong documentation and report writing skills. Consistent demonstration of dignity and respect when interacting with others and/or developing programs. **Proven** ability to promote ideas, services, or programs by effectively communicating and building strong, trusting relationships.

**Physical Demands**

Long periods of standing and/or walking may be required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds may be required.

**Mental Demands**

High level of sound and independent judgement and reasoning ability. Ability to multi-task and establish priorities in a changing environment. Ability to analyze and interpret assessment data. Strong problem solving ability.
