**Title**: Policy Analyst II
**Salary**: $72,841 - $91,051 - $100,156 per year (pay range explained below)
**Contract**: Permanent
**Hours**: 37.5 hrs Monday
- Friday, normal office hours 8:30am-4:30pm (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
**Location**: Metro Vancouver office - Alberni office, on the ancestral Coast Salish Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Hybrid working in line with FNHA’s flex work policy. (Hybrid - minimum 50% in the office).

**About the role**
As a Policy Analyst II, you will undertake strategy, policy, evaluation, and research functions for all Health Benefit areas, Pharmacy, Dental, Medical Supplies & Equipment, Vision, Crisis Mental Health, and Medical Transportation. Includes the development of reports, presentations, implementation plans and publications. Developing strong and effective working relationships with colleagues, First Nations communities, health service partners and with federal, provincial and external health system partners and stakeholders. The Policy Analyst II works closely with internal and external groups, FNHA teams and community leadership to develop and deliver presentations and training material to further health literacy within First Nations communities.

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have:
**Education**
- University Degree in a related field such as health policy, public policy, health systems management, political or social science with at least 4 - 6 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

**Experience**
- Recent, relevant and significant experience in research, analysis, policy development and report preparation related to the Health or Social services sector
- Experience working with First Nations leadership and communities and First Nations health programs and services
- Experience in policy development and analysis (ideally in the health sector or with First Nations issues and priorities)
- Experience in research, writing, and report development
- Experience in community engagement or consultative processes

**Knowledge**
- Knowledge of health benefits as it relates to First Nations
- Knowledge of BC First Nations communities, their health governance model and issues facing them relative to health and wellness

**Competencies**
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with others
- Ability to conduct research and analysis, including clearly identifying and defining policy issues, providing analysis to a high professional standard, and designing and evaluating policy options from a First Nations viewpoint
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, including public speaking, and note taking skills
- Ability to translate complex concepts into easily understood and audience appropriate briefing notes, reports and presentations
