The scope of this position will be to supervise a time sensitive delivery operation across Ontario This includes supervising day to day operations, drivers, fleet & fleet maintenance, dispatch operations, reverse dock operations and on-site customer dock operations while ensuring all remain compliant with the company’s Safety and Compliance policies and procedures. This is a 24 hour operation, Monday morning through Saturday noon, deliveries for the most part are performed unattended at night. In addition to the regular shift (to be discussed), the manager will be on call and expected to support field operations, dispatch, driver and dock team when called upon.

**Job duties and responsibilities include**:
1. Working with the Dedicated Leadership Team, ensure that, as the company grows, operations capabilities meet or exceed all customer and corporate requirements for unit cost, service quality and responsiveness.

2. Work closely with all areas of the company to ensure operational plans, and goals are met, and future improvements in service and efficiency are achieved. Provide daily guidance to staff, to ensure alignment with operational and customer expectations.

4. Develop and maintain a culture of safety, professionalism and service excellence in all areas of operations. Maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with governing transportation requirements.

5. Ensure that all incidents (such as personal injuries; transportation collisions; spills etc) are promptly reported, documented, root causes identified and corrective/preventative measures implemented.

6. Ensure that a preventative maintenance program for all equipment is maintained as per company guidelines.

7. Provide mentoring and guidance to subordinates and other employees. Establish individual objectives, recommend, recruit, hire, monitor drivers, dock and other personnel and implement succession planning. Develop, monitor and manage professional development, contingency support plans for the operations.

8. Utilize superior communication skills to motivate all staff including drivers and develop effective peers, managers and clients.

**Desirable Skills/Education/Experience**:
**Experience**
- Transportation background in dispatch, dock supervision
- Tractor, trailer and tail-gate knowledge
- Safety training interest, knowledge and skills is an asset
- Class 1 license preferred however not required
- Computer literate (Word & Excel) and computer friendly.
- Computer literate in Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with a scanning delivery devices program
