**Purpose**
Reporting to the Manager, Language Project, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for the Indigenous Language Project and other policy files as needed.
**Scope**
The Language Project Coordinator will be conducting culturally grounded, trauma-informed, and gender-based research and project coordination as part of community-based projects.
**General Duties**
- Provide assistance to the projects including support with background research and draft briefs, recruitment, facilitation, analysis, and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct analyzation of culture language trends, resource scan, be aware of qualitative and quantitative research and analysis.
- Synthesize existing library and archives and evidence and empirical data from NWAC’s briefing notes on languages and information sessions, engagements sessions to develop culturally innovative knowledge sharing. Culturally translation products and resources that align with community needs and priorities.
- Assist in delivering the online Workshops and presentations, via ZOOM.
- Assist in development of materials for the Culture and Languages program.
- Assist in establish and executing effective networking strategies with various stakeholders such as academics, provincial and territorial associations, Indigenous women and gender-diverse community members and their families, Indigenous non-profit organizations, and private sector stakeholders.
**Education, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities**
- Undergraduate degree in related discipline or experience to equal the knowledge needed to perform at a high level.
- Master’s Degree - asset.
- 1-3 years of experience in program coordination and/or research within a non-profit community organization.
- Experience and proficiency in program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation to carry out the duties of the language portfolio.
- Participatory and community-based research approaches.
- Knowledge in Indigenous language knowledge systems and Indigenous language research methodologies, and strengths-based approaches in research.
- Knowledge of individual, institutional, and systemic issues affecting language and Indigenous women and communities in Turtle Island and Inuit Nunangat.
- Ability to respectfully conduct Indigenous language research and analysis with Indigenous peoples and present information in various reports.
- Ability to develop recommendations to support senior management with their decision-making processes with policy directions; and as it relates to the Languages portfolio.

**Assets**
- Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of Indigenous languages and/or French is a strong asset.
