**What will you work on?**
This is a maternity leave contract approximately a 14-15-month contract. This position offers the opportunity for a full trademark practice. You can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.

**How will you create impact?**
- Responsible for all global trademark matters including due diligence, filing, infringement, prosecution, enforcement, and take-down notices, liaising with external counsel as necessary for foreign jurisdictions
- Accountable to clear all new names and provide registrability and availability opinions on proposed trademarks
- Management of opposition and invalidity proceedings, including direct correspondence and response to requests / inquiries from external counsel
- Remain current on key trademarks development globally
- Legal review of packaging

**How will you fit into the team?**
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills coupled with excellent teamwork and cooperation
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and high-volume workload with exceptional attention to detail

**What are your skills and experience?**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a trademark agent function with experience within legal practices
- Experience with global trademark portfolio management, ideally in the CPG field
- Experience conducting extensive research in trademarks in both North America and overseas
- Qualified Canadian Trademark Agent
- Knowledge of trademark law and practice in other countries such as the US and EU is an asset
- Clearance and protection of trademarks domestically and internationally, opposition and cancellation proceedings, demand letters
- Negotiating settlements, providing litigation support in court actions involving trademark disputes, and conducting due diligence in commercial intellectual property transactional matters

Pay: Up to $160,000.00 per year
