**Positive Living Niagara - Human Resources Clerk (summer student)**
**Position**: Full-time, contract for 16 weeks
**Hours**:35 hours/week
**Wage**:$20.90 per hour
Positive Living Niagara is a community-focused organization composed of passionate staff and volunteers. We are committed to providing support, education, and advocacy for individuals affected by or at risk of HIV, Hepatitis C, and other sexually transmitted blood-borne infections (STBBIs). We are dedicated to fostering inclusivity, equity, and the meaningful involvement of those we serve.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- General HR Support:_
- Assist in updating and maintaining employee records and databases
- Support recruitment activities including posting jobs, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
- Prepare onboarding packages and assist with orientation
- Support training and development documentation
- Assist with health and safety tracking and compliance
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team
- Participate in HR projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Initiatives:_
- Assist in reviewing HR policies and procedures through a DEI lens to ensure inclusive practices
- Support the planning and coordination of DEI-related training sessions and workshops
- Help develop and maintain a calendar of cultural and heritage observances to promote awareness within the organization
- Participate in the development of DEI communication materials, such as newsletters or intranet content
- Collaborate with the HR team to identify opportunities for enhancing workplace inclusivity and belonging
- Conduct research on best practices in DEI to inform HR strategies and initiatives
**Qualifications**:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrated interest or experience in DEI initiatives is considered an asset
- Previous administrative or office experience is considered an asset
- Have a valid G drivers license, clear driving record and access to a reliable vehicle
- Must meet eligibility requirements for the Canada Summer Jobs program
- Be between the ages 15-30 at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred.
- Have a valid SIN
