**Trustee Services Officer**
Reporting to the Executive Director of Welcome Housing and Support Services, the Program Officer, Trustee Services is responsible for the delivery and administration of the Trustee Services Program provided through Welcome Housing.
The Officer coordinates and allocates the work of the Trustee Program Assistant to ensure that the program is client centered and is administered efficiently.
The Program Officer ensures that the program is highly responsive to the needs of individuals accessing services, and operates in a highly efficient and client-centered manner to help individuals maintain stable housing and debt repayment.
This requires that the officer:
➔ recognize the complex barriers of mental health and addictions
➔ facilitate and coordinate an individual’s key support systems
➔ collaborate with relevant community stakeholders to help meet the needs of diverse clients.
The responsibilities of the Program Officer include, but are not limited to:
- Completing client intakes
- Creating monthly budgets for clients that account for bill and arrears payments and supporting financial literacy
- Ensuring that client accounts are in good order and clients are appropriately serviced
- Addressing client finance-related questions
- Ensuring that clients’ bills are paid in a timely fashion
- Coordinating the monthly payment of all clients after bills and rent have been paid, via direct deposit, mailed cheque, or by hand
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation
- Maintain an accurate list of all client related information
- Remaining current with any and all policy changes affecting the Trustee Program by Community Services
- Remaining current with any arising changes in the human services landscape that may affect clients or service delivery
- Advocate on behalf of the client with all relevant stakeholders - Community Services, Case Workers, other partner agencies, Metro Regional Housing Authority, and Community Services
- Attend any and all trustee-related meetings as required by Community Services
- Support and promote the program through regular and sustained presence in the community - via presentations with stakeholders and partners, social media, regular face to face meetings
- Acts as a signing officer for the Trustee Service
- Preparing reports, statistics and related material and distributing to appropriate individuals and agencies
- Develops and implements new best practices for the program through increased efficiencies, leveraging technology, collaborative practices
- Ensures that best practices are followed from intake, to client services, to discharge - this includes:
○ Completing confidentiality and trustee agreement forms
○ Ensuring that complex cases are reviewed collaboratively as a team
○ Ensuring that policies are followed for intake, discharge and ongoing relationships with clients
○ Developing policies to enhance best practices
○ Troubleshooting issues that may arise in collaboration with the Executive Director.
This is not an exhaustive list of the roles and responsibilities required for this position.
Other responsibilities may be allocated at the discretion of the Executive Director.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
